Sam Amend
Funeral Director/Embalmer

Sam Amend has been with Memorial Funeral Home since August of 2010. She is a funeral director and embalmer. A Saint Louis native, Sam attended St. Louis Community College at Forest Park for the funeral directing and mortuary science program, graduating in May of 2007. In her free time, Sam likes to play with her cats and bake assorted sweets.

Sheila Barcus
Location Manager

Sheila graduated from Dallas Institute, Dallas, TX as a Funeral Director and Embalmer in 2008. She then worked at Memorial Park in Columbia, MO as a Funeral Director before coming to Kansas City in August 2011 to become manager of The Kansas City South Care Center. She returned to Memorial Park in the beginning of 2013 as the location manager.

BreAnna Bichsel
Funeral Director and Embalmer

BreAnna grew up in Leonard, MO graduating from North Shelby High School in 2010. In 2011 she moved to Dallas, TX to earn her Associates Degree from the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service. In 2012, she began her career at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas then found her way back to her home state in February of 2013 when she joined Memorial Funeral Home in Columbia, MO. She is also a member of the Bethel Christian Church.

Derek Boland
Cemetery Grounds Crew

Derek is life-long resident of Mid-Missouri. He originally joined Memorial Park Cemetery in July of 2009. In October of 2012, he left Memorial to go through Air Force Reserve Training. Upon completion, Derek was rehired in July of 2013. He is recently engaged and plans on getting married in May of 2015 to Nicole Pankay. He enjoys hunting, fishing, and all other outdoor activities.

Norm Bradley
Administrative Assistant

Norm has worked at Memorial since 2011, originally coming on as a Family Service Counselor before taking his current position in Administration. He is thankful for the opportunity to assist families and co-workers in any way he can. Norm lives in Columbia with his wife Leah and son Ronan.

Landon Enochs
Cemetery Grounds Crew

Landon, 25, is a life- long Mid-Missouri resident. He graduated from Rockbridge High School in 2005. Since high school, he has amassed several skills by working as a tow truck driver and a brakeman for the railroad. He joined the Memorial Park Team in April of 2013. Landon enjoys spending time with his three dogs and fiancé Katherine.

Paul Hanson
Cemetery Grounds Crew

Paul has been with Memorial Park since April of 2011. He was born in Browning, MO and currently resides in Harrisburg. Paul has two wonderful children that he enjoys spending time with. In his spare time Paul enjoys camping with friends and family.

Leah Herling
Administrative Coordinator

Leah Herling has been with Memorial Funeral Home & Cemetery since 2008. As an administrative coordinator, she is responsible for all Administrative staff and processes. She enjoys spending time and relaxing with her family. She also plays an active role in her children’s lives, helping with their sports teams and being the treasurer of the Hickman High School Touchdown Club.

Gerry Hornecker
Family Service and Preplanning Specialist

Gerry was born and raised in St. Louis. He worked in a sales/service for a major chemical company for many years prior to moving to central Missouri. He represents Memorial Funeral Home and Cemetery as a Family Service Counselor and pre need sales specialist. He enjoys family outings, cooking, grilling, the great outdoors, and especially fishing Missouri streams and lakes. He is a huge fan of the Cardinals and Mizzou sports.

Debbie Johnson
Family Service and Preplanning Specialist

Debbie has lived in Columbia, MO most of her life. Debbie is married, the mother of two boys and has two grandchildren. As a Family Service Specialist Debbie has the honor of helping families during a time of loss. She is equally honored to be able to work with families to make well planned funeral and cemetery prearrangements. She understands that every life has a story that needs to be told and each family is unique.

Matt Markley
Cemetery Superintendent

Matt was born and raised in Dallas, TX. He has lived in Columbia for the past 15 years. After many years working for Salton/Toastmaster, and recently part time for Memorial Park, he officially joined Memorial Park Team in April of 2013 as Cemetery Superintendent. In his free time he enjoys sports, tailgating at Mizzou Football, and spending time with his friends and wonderful family, Leah, Cory, Jackson and Carter.

Joe Martin
Cemetery Grounds Crew

Joe, 34, arrived at Memorial Park Cemetery in April of 2013 and enjoys working with the crew. He was born in Browning, MO. Joe has a beautiful daughter named Lakota that is very special to him. In his free time, he enjoys fishing, hunting, and camping with family and friends.

Donni Mize
Manager of Community & Family Services

In 2001 Donni moved to Columbia. After thyroid cancer treatment, she bought and ran a Christian Book Store, then worked at the University Hospital. In 2009, she came to Memorial where she was able to help families further. "It is very rewarding to help others preplan their arrangements, knowing that they are entrusting me with a very personal topic. I often feel like I become part of their family in the process."

Jerome Rhodes
Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer Apprentice

Jerome is from Glasgow, Kentucky. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force. Jerome obtained an Associates in Mortuary Science from Mid – America College in Jeffersonville, Indiana. He is a big time Louisville Cardinals fan! Jerome moved to Columbia and started with Memorial Funeral Home in May.

Sarah Rutter
Administrative Assistant

Sarah is a lifelong Columbia resident and joined Memorial Park in April 2013 as an Administrative Processor. She and her husband Mike have two wonderful children. She enjoys traveling, reading, and most of all spending time with her family. “It’s a privilege to help families connect, honor, and remember their loved ones."

Linda Waller
Family Service & Preplanning Specialist

Linda was born and raised in St. Louis, MO but has traveled the country and has lived in nine states. She has traveled full time the last five years as a defense contractor for the US Government. She is a mother and grandmother. Linda is compassionate and caring. She is there to answer all of your questions and will do her best to work with the families and honor all of their traditions and wishes.

Jacob Zagorac
Family Service and Preplanning Specialist

Jacob specializes in helping individuals who are concerned with the options, decisions and expense their family will deal with upon a loved one’s passing. He prides himself in providing honest, straight-forward assistance and is a Certified Service Professional, providing the utmost in quality of care. He is married with 3 wonderful children. He looks forward to meeting you and your family.
